Last dives

Posted by admin On August - 6 - 2006

For my last dives I wished to go to my favourite dive site ‘Golden Dreams’ with ‘Shark Junction’ and a would really like to see ‘The Maze’ the only dive site in Nananu I had never seen. I was really happy when we went there. We done a deep dive in 30m at the ‘Shark Junction’ and then dives to ‘Golden Dreams’. It was so beautiful and I saw again white tip reef sharks. ‘The Maze’ was nice as well and full of corals.

Done some photos:

The Blue Lagoon at Nanuya Lailai

Posted by admin On August - 2 - 2006

Today morning I went diving at the Blue Lagoon. The dive site was called ‘Tom’s Tumb’. I’ve heard that in this area are many dead corals and it is not worth to dive there. But I really wanted to know if that is true. And yes, it was. Its was too expensive (F$ 100 for one dive) and you will see less things alive and a big graveyard for corals, everything gray and demolished. But in 18m dept I found the most beautiful Kauri shell ever. After being back for lunch I produced a coconut bracelet. The Israelis left to Naviti where I want to go the next day for going diving at the ‘Manta Ray Resort’. I phoned immediately with ‘Coconut Bay Resort’ and there were still beds available (funny: two days ago they say it was booked out). In the afternoon I went with Lisa from California to the Blue Lagoon for snorkeling. In the evening I had some Kava and played some games. Could only take a few pictures since I only had some left on my quick snap cam… Too bad my SLR had dropped into the water and didn’t work…

Posted by admin On July - 31 - 2006

Finally this Monday is the big day – we will see the worlds best shark feeding in Pacific Harbour of Beqa Adventures Divers. Its was so exciting. Apart from Glenn and me, Johnny, Sam and Marina done the shark feeding as well. It was great and worth it… The first dive was at 31m (51min) dept the second dive in 16m (49min) and we saw Giant Trevally, a Queensland Grooper, a Moray, White Tip Reef Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Grey Sharks, a Nurse Shark, a Lemon Shark and Bull Sharks. Later we got a brilliant 40min shark DVD. After the shark feeding Glenn and I went straight back to Nadi.

Golden Dreams

Posted by admin On July - 16 - 2006

Diving is addictive. After finishing my Open Water Course I decided to do one more dive because just find out how to dive just with using the lungs for diving up and down. We went to my favourite dive site ‘Golden Dreams’, next to ‘Shark Junction’. ‘Golden Dreams’ was in ‘National Geographic’ and Cousteau said it belongs to the ten best dive sites in the world. It was so wonderful. And the best of all was that I saw there today my first shark near the ‘Shark Junction’. It was a White Tip Reef Shark (see on Aarons picture below). I thought now I should do my Advanced Course. Glenn said I will be allright and can do it.

First boat dives

Posted by admin On July - 15 - 2006

After passing my mask skill and completing all skills I was ready for going diving in the breathtaking reefs at the Bligh Water around Nananu-I-Ra. And right on my first dive in the morning at ‘Bula Maker’ I saw a turtle. It was so beautiful. On the afternoon dive we went to another dive site called ‘Dream Maker’. Both beautiful with corals and hundreds of different fish. In the evening made the written multiple choice test for finishing the Open Water course. In the evening we had the beach party
