Fishing and mining

Even fishing will be learned. I had not known before that it can be so difficult to catch a fish. Also a good fisherman has to be patient. That’s what I’m mostly not. So after breakfast we put all our fishing gear in the car and drove to the coast of this area around Thames. It was pretty freezing, in New Zealand is now autum, I don’t like it. After some vain trials we gave up the experiment of fishing. Maybe another time.
At least this is a picture of a snapper. This fish we wanted to catch… For more information about fishing and fishes in New Zealand watch out: www.fishnz.co.nz

On the way back to the parents house we found a goldmine with open gate (www.goldmine-experience.co.nz). Around 1860 Thames and Coromandel used to be golmine towns. I done some steps into it but it was so dark that it was impossible to determine the shaft inside without a flashlight. After having more good food (Russells mum is a really good chef) we drove later on home Auckland.
